Spiral Light Candles is shaking up a tired industry, but they were held back by their production capabilities. They opted to use Kickstarter to help fund their expansion and to no one’s surprise, the $10,000 goal was met. But on top of that $10k came another $51k.
We produced the campaign video. The owners rightly assumed that the message should come straight from them, and they also knew that they wanted it to be kitschy and not take itself too seriously. We helped them play into that.
We went with a modest approach to the production, but added some flairs of our own creation as well as some pre-existing assets the brand had.
The Spiral Light campaign was even selected by Funded Today as one of the 30 best campaigns of 2020.
About the Client
Spiral Light Candles is innovating in an industry that doesn’t see much change. The product is beloved as a party trick and a long-lasting candle all in one. The patented spiraling burn has been everywhere from the front page of Reddit to a former Bachelor star’s Instagram.
About the Project
Problem: The Spiral Light team knew every great Kickstarter comes with a great video. They knew what they wanted to say and how they wanted to say it, but they needed some help on the production end.
Process: Ironically, an extremely high-end production would not have been fitting for this Kickstarter. We produced the video with a small team and modest production equipment. Our main goal was to nail the pacing and keep the viewer engaged.
Results: The results of the campaign say it all – expectations were exceeded and Spiral Light Candles is now enjoying a brand new production process as a result.
